Open Enrolment

Admission to all primary schools is regulated through the Education Authority's Open Enrolment Procedure. 

Any child whose 4th birthday falls on or before 1st July,  will have reached compulsory school age and should be enrolled to begin school in the following September. 

Application can be made online by registering on the EA school admissions portal.

Arrangements for Admission

Children starting school in September will be invited to come along to the school for an Induction Day with their parents, to meet their teachers and to be provided with additional information.

This is an excellent opportunity for teachers and parents to exchange important information in an informal setting. 

In September, Primary One pupils begin the formal school year on a day earlier than other pupils.

After this P1 pupils begin school on a permanent and full time basis, beginning each school day at 9.00am and finishing at 2.00pm.

We feel this is a mutually beneficial way to help new pupils settle quickly into their new environment and also gives teachers an opportunity to spend more time with new pupils in their new routine. 

Parents will be sent a letter during the summer vacation outlining the starting dates and time for their children.
